What makes Jennerstown United Methodist unique? Jennerstown United Methodist Church is a place where all people are welcomed. Our Sunday services present the timeless truths of Christianity in a way that impacts people in their lives today. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you can grow in your understanding of Christianity at these services. We are members of the WCA (Wesleyan Covenant Association) as well as members of the Willow Creek Association.
What will the services be like? The first service is more traditional but includes, at various times, drama, media presentations, special music, and practical messages. The second service is more contemporary and includes music from our praise band and practical messages.
What should I wear to Jennerstown United Methodist? Casual clothes are the norm at JUMC. For example, people are encouraged to wear whatever is comfortable for them during the year. We have a wide variety of attire each Sunday, from suits to shorts. Our sanctuary is air-conditioned so please be aware of that during the summer months.
How long are services? The Sunday services at JUMC typically last about an hour.
Will I be singled out in any way as a visitor? At Jennerstown United Methodist, you’ll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money, and never embarrassed. You won’t be asked to participate in the offering. Let the service be a gift to you.
Is there something for my kids during the service? We offer J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) every third Sunday following the children's message at the 9am service. We also offer activity bags to keep them occupied during the service. These are in addition to the special bulletins we offer. Also, we offer Sunday school each Sunday at 10am and Vacation Bible School every June. This year the theme will be "The Armor of God" and it will be June 18th through 22nd, from 6pm to 8:15pm. Dinner for everyone is provided. Each Sunday, during the first service, we offer a Children’s message. We provide, each week, a worksheet/children’s bulletin so that the children can learn a message geared just for them. During the second service, those “bulletins” are available and the children are invited to sing along with the music.
